Spider mite is the mite recognized by pale speckling and fine webbing. It is not identified without looking under the leaf. Dry heat makes it easier for them to increase. A new plant is isolated. Physical cleaning and a shower are the first step; in a heavy infestation the treatment is repeated. Recovery is watched by whether new growth stays clean, not by an old leaf healing.
